plaid is an old-fashioned kind of longing, the heart a newer kind of attitude. Red and brown taking turns along the set.

The hand-painted sections are done one nail at a time, and the small differences between strokes are left in deliberately, because no machine can produce them. The seal carries it through daily wear, washing and housework.

You can stop thinking about it holding. It has been through the office, the coffee queue, the train and the air-conditioned room, and it comes off with the nail surface intact and no pressure marks left behind.
